Editorial Work
My editorial work focuses on multilingual and regionally grounded scholarship in writing studies, translation, gender studies, and post-Soviet Eurasia. I work with authors across languages, disciplines, and national contexts to develop book projects, strengthen individual chapters, synthesize peer-review feedback, and make specialized research accessible to broader academic and public audiences.
o International Exchanges on the Study of Writing, WAC Clearinghouse Book Series
I serve as Associate Editor for International Exchanges on the Study of Writing, an open-access book series published by the WAC Clearinghouse. In this role, I work with authors and volume editors on project development, manuscript review, developmental editing, and responses to external reviewers.
o Edited Collections
I am co-editor of two forthcoming interdisciplinary collections: Teaching Writing in English at the Decolonial Turn in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia, with Kate Koppy, and Women in Conflict, War, and Revolution in Post-Soviet Space, with Nona Shahnazaryan. The first examines English-language writing instruction through questions of Soviet educational legacies, linguistic hierarchy, coloniality, and local knowledge; the second explores women’s experiences, representation, and political agency during conflict, war, and revolution across the post-Soviet region.
Public and Policy Scholarship
My public and policy-oriented writing connects research on rhetoric, education, gender, conflict, and cultural memory with broader regional and civic conversations. I am particularly interested in forms of scholarship that preserve local complexity while making research usable to readers outside a single academic discipline.
Literary Translation and Cross-Cultural Editorial Work
My translation and cross-cultural editorial work examines how Eastern European literary and scholarly texts move across linguistic and institutional boundaries. I hold a Graduate Certificate in Applied Literary Translation and have translated Bulgarian literary works into English, taught translation theory, and supervised student translation projects.
Translation also informs my editorial practice: working across languages requires attention not only to meaning and style but also to the unequal systems through which scholarship and literature become visible to Anglophone readers.
Scholarly Community and Professional Service
I contribute to scholarly communities through peer review, writing-program development, editorial mentoring, and professional workshops. My service has focused especially on supporting writers, strengthening publication projects, and building institutional cultures around writing and interdisciplinary exchange.
